JASPER (NNDC) – Second-year Jasper High School head volleyball coach Liz Milligan has been named an assistant coach for the Indiana South All-Stars in their upcoming game this weekend against the state’s best from the north.

The Indiana North/South All-Star game is hosted by the Indiana Coaches of Girls Sports Association.

The 2014 edition of the team’s rosters have not yet been released.

NNDC has learned that Jasper’s Reagan Hichmeister, Teyah Leinenbach and Michala Flamion were asked to try out for the all-star team, but the three did not make the final roster.

Tryouts were held last weekend in Indianapolis.

The game itself will be this Sunday at Lawrence North High School in Indianapolis.

Milligan just finished her second season as the Lady Wildcats’ head coach.  Her teams have won both the local 3A sectional and regional both years.

This year’s team lost to the defending 3A state champion Indianapolis Brebeuf Braves in the semifinals of the semistate hosted by Jasper.

Jasper finished 26-12 this season.

This is the latest accolade for Milligan.   Earlier this month, she was named the Class 3A Coach-of-the-Year by the ICGSA.
