Huntingburg Man Arrested For Drunk Driving After Early Morning Rollover Crash

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) — Alcohol and snow apparently didn’t mix well for a Huntingburg.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says 30-year old Luis Rosales of Huntingburg was driving southbound on U. S. 231 just north of Phoenix Drive shortly before 2am. They say Rosales lost control of the car when its wheels lost traction on the snow-covered highway. DCSD says the car went off the westside of the highway; striking ditch, rolled over once and came to rest back on its wheels.

Rosales was taken to Memorial Hospital by ambulance where he was treated for complaint of chest pain and later released.

Rosales is charged with a Level 6 felony count of operating a vehicle when intoxicated (B.A.C. .20%) with a prior conviction of a similar offense.

DCSD says Rosales’ car was totaled in the accident.
