Huntingburg Man Arrested; Two Crawford County Men Escape Serious Injury (POLICE BLOTTER)

HUNTINGBURG (NNDC) – A Huntingburg was arrested early Friday morning charged on theft-related charges.

31-year old Lance Camplin is charged with Attempted Theft (A misdemeanor) and Unauthorized Entry of a Motor Vehicle (B misdemeanor).

Huntingburg police say Camplin was caught inside a vehicle by its owner shortly before 3am Friday in the 600 block of North Washington Street. HPD says Camplin fled the scene, but was located a short time later and was positively identified by the complaintant.

The complainant told police that several items were missing from inside the vehicle.

ST ANTHONY (NNDC) – Two Crawford County men were injured, but not seriously, after a single-vehicle late Thursday night just east of St. Anthony.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says a pickup driven by 50-year old Kenneth Sturgeon of Eckerty traveled off eastbound Indiana 64 west of South 600 East just before 11pm.

DCSD says the truck went down a rock embankment, and then struck both a tree and utility pole; becoming wedged between them.

The utility pole snapped in half because of the force of the pickup truck striking it.

DCSD says both Sturgeon, and a passenger in the truck with him, Lance Sturgeon (no age given), were able to get out of the truck on their own, and were out of the vehicle before deputies arrived.

DCSD says both sustained injuries but refused EMS medical treatment on scene. Both were later transported by personal vehicle to the hospital.
