David Ray Dodson III, 29, Huntingburg

David Ray DodsonDavid Ray Dodson III, 29, of Huntingburg, died Tuesday at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville. He was born June 9, 1985, in Huntingburg to David Ray Dodson Jr. and Carolyn D. (Dowdell) Dodson.

David was a fourth generation Kimball International employee working as a furniture builder. He was a 2003 graduate of Southridge High School, a member of the Southridge band, and a member of Boy Scout Troop #181 where he was an Eagle Scout and was inducted into the Order of the Arrow. He was an avid cat lover and enjoyed playing video games.

He is survived by his mother, Carolyn D. Dodson, Huntingburg; his father, David Ray Dodson, Jr., Corydon; his maternal grandfather, Ronald Dowdell, Huntingburg; his paternal grandparents, David Ray Dodson Sr. and Mary Dodson, Jasper; one half-siser, Kimberly Dodson, Corydon; and one niece, Aleeyah Dodson, Corydon.

He was preceded in death by two grandmothers, Rose Marie Jones Estranera, Honolulu, Hawaii, and Viola Reinbold Dowdell, Huntingburg.

Services at 2 p.m. (EST) Sunday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in Mayo Cemetery near Duff. The services will be officiated by Larry Mickler.
