Maxine Siebe Blackgrave, 80, Holland

Maxine BlackgraveMaxine Siebe Blackgrave, 80, of Holland, died Saturday (November 1) at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville. She was born October 13, 1934, in Holland to Leonard and Bernice (Buse) Siebe.

Maxine retired as a dietary supervisor and manager at River Valley Behavioral Health Center in Owensboro, Kentucky. She enjoyed cooking and was a member of St. James Lutheran Church in Holland.

She is survived by two sons, Keith Blackgrave and wife Diana, Holland, and Wendell Blackgrave and wife Debbie, Wylie,Texas; four daughters, Debra Blackgrave, Holland, Cynthis Newsmith and husband John, Grandview, Cathie King and husband Stan, Paoli, and Melinda Conner and husband Earnest, Lewisport, Kentucky; one nephew, Jack Egbert, Louisville; 11 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert Blackgrave Jr., who died December 7, 1995, one sister, Garneta Egbert; and two brothers, Garnade “Bud” Siebe and Charles Lee Siebe.

Services at 2 p.m. (EST) Wednesday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg with burial following in St. James Lutheran Cemetery in Holland. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at
