Jeeps Tennis Finish Undefeated; Southridge Wins Again On Senior Night (SCOREBOARD)


Northeast Dubois 3 Washington 2

At Dubois, the undefeated Jeeps survive one of their toughest challenges of the season winning 3-2 over the Hatchets in the 2014 regular season finale.

#1 singles – Patrick Betz (ND) lost to Lucas Miller (W) 1-6, 5-7,
#2 singles – Jaxon Denu (ND) defeated Michael Ramsey (W) 6-2, 6-4,
#3 singles – Case Eisenhut (ND) lost to Jacob Overton (W) 4-6, 1-6,
#1 doubles – Cayden Knies/Tristan Linne (ND) defeated Jonathan Harner/Kaden Pfender (W) 6-0, 6-2,
#2 doubles – Kaden Quinn/Parker Zehr (ND) defeated Jayden Barley/Ben Lambert (W) 6-2, 6-2.

The Jeeps finish the regular season 16-0. Northeast Dubois opens Sectional play at Loogootee Wednesday at 6pm taking on the host Lions.

Southridge 5 Evansville Bosse 0

At Huntingburg, the Raiders finish the regular season in impressive fashion with a 5-0 win over the Bulldogs on Senior Night.

#1 singles – Andrew Krieg (S) defeated Trey Johnson (B) 6-4 6-1,
#2 singles – Joe Wininger (S) defeated Nicely Tsianguebeni (B) 6-0 6-1,
#3 singles – Andrew Recker (S) defeated Clyde Tsiangeubeni (B) 6-3, 6-7(5-7), 10-5,
#1 doubles – Cam O’Bryan/Evan Julian defeated Bailey Yeakle/Drake Massey (B) 6-1 6-0,
#2 doubles – Corbin Neu/Mitch Steinkamp (S) defeated Javien Langley/Jaidon Hunter 6-0 6-0.

All but Steinkamp are seniors for Southridge this season.

The Raiders open Sectional play tomorrow (Wednesday) at Jasper against Pike Central. The match begins at 4:30pm. Jasper takes on Forest Park also at 4:30pm.


Southridge 3 Tecumseh 2

At Huntingburg, the Lady Raiders had to go five games before dispatching Tecumseh, 25-18, 13-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-8.

Kayla Voegerl led Southridge with 12 kills and 15 digs. Maddie Lubbehusen also had 15 digs. Taylor Uppencamp added 10 kills in the win. Kathryn Brewer led Southridge with 12 assists; she also added 10 digs.

Heritage Hills 3  Forest Park 0

At Ferdinand, the host Lady Rangers were shut out by Heritage Hills in a PAC matchup, 17-25, 21-25, 17-25.

Lydia Lange with eight kills in the match for Forest Park; Jordan Voges and Madi Giesler each had six. Anna Hagedorn had 19 digs to lead the Lady Rangers; Giesler had 13. Sophia Bolte led Forest Park with 11 assists.

Washington 3 Northeast Dubois 1

At Washington, the Lady Jeeps fall in four games to their hosts the Lady Hatchets, 23-25, 25-17, 14-25, 7-25.

Kendra Jacob led Northeast Dubois with 18 kills; she also had 13 digs. Jenna Stemle led the Lady Jeeps with 15 digs. Kennedy Neukam had 24 assists in the loss.

Meanwhile from Saturday…

Jasper won all three matches in its own volleyball Invitational tournament, defeating Evansville Harrison, 25-9, 25-11; Castle, 25-15, 25-19; and Sullivan, 25-17, 25-6.

And, in girls soccer at Dubois, the Lady Jeeps lost to Sullivan 1-0. Northeast Dubois is home this afternoon hosting North Knox at 5:30pm.
