JHS Soccer Teams Keep Winning; JHS Girls Golf 8th At IHSAA Regional (SCOREBOARD)


At Montogomery’s Country Oaks Golf Club, Jasper finishes 8th out of 18 teams competing in the IHSAA Girls Golf Regional.

Jasper’s 347 team score was 53 strokes behind regional champion Evansville North. Sarah Ackerman shoots an 82 to lead Jasper. Other Lady Wildcats scores… Annika Harmon (87), Maddie Wagner (88), Mady Horney (90), and Catherine Bell (91).

The tournament brings the local girls golf season to a close.


Jasper 4 Castle 0

At Jasper, the Wildcats win their 14th consecutive game after a season-opening loss at now #1 Evansville Memorial.

Jasper scores three goals in the first half enroute to the win over Castle. Elliot Prange scored two goals for Jasper, including the Wildcats’ only goal in the second half. Caleb Hurst and Eirik Steine also scored for Jasper.

Jasper now 14-1 on the season.


Jasper 1 Gibson Southern 0

At JHS, Jasper scored 7 minutes into the match when Brittany Haskins collected a rebound just inside the penalty box and drilled a shot to the far post. Jasper and Gibson Southern battled the rest of match without another score. Eli Verkamp and Lauren Schnell each made several nice saves in the second half to preserve the victory. Jasper moves to 12-3 on the season setting a new record with 12 regular season victories. Jasper also notched its 12th shutout of the year, another first for the program in the regular season. Jasper hosts Evansville Reitz on Tuesday.
