Lady Cats Win Big 8 Soccer In “Shoot-Out”; Jeeps Remain Undefeated In Tennis (SCOREBOARD)

At Washington, Jasper wins its 6th Big 8 Conference championship in school history with a “Shoot-Out” win over the Lady Hatchets.

The two teams played to a scoreless tie after 80 minutes of regulatioin and two overtime periods. The match went to a “Shoot-Out” as per conference rules. In the “Shoot-Out,” Sara Carpenter and Brittany Haskins score goals for Jasper. Meanwhile, Jasper Goalkeeper Eli Verkamp blocked 4 of 5 kicks in the “Shoot-Out” by Washington to secure the Jasper victory.


Jasper 3 Evansville Mater Dei 0

On “Senior Night” At Jasper, the Lady Wildcats of Jasper sweep the Lady Wildcats from Mater Dei, 3-0. Game scores were 25-9, 25-19, 25-12.

Senior Elisabeth Ahlbrand and junior Michala Flamion led Jasper with 11 kills each. Teyah Leinenbach had 31 assists for the victorious Lady Wildcats. Senior Rachel Sternberg led Jasper with 15 aces.

South Knox 3 Northeast Dubois 2

At Dubois, the Lady Jeeps drop a five-game Blue Chip Conference heartbreaker to visiting South Knox, 28-26, 22-25, 21-25, 25-20, 13-15.

Kendra Jacob with 36 kills to lead the Lady Jeeps; Kennedy Neukam with 48 assists. Jenna Stemle led NDHS with 39 digs.

Southridge 3 North Posey 2

At Huntingburg, Southridge outlasted Pocket Athletic Conference foe North Posey in five games, 25-21, 25-16, 11-25, 15-25, 15-13.

Kayla Voegerl led the Lady Raiders with 17 kills; she also had 23 digs. Maddie Lubbehusen led Southridge with 24 digs. Grace Kappner had 22 assists for the Lady Raiders.


Northeast Dubois 4 Bloomfield 1

At Dubois, the Jeeps remain undefeated with a 4-1 win over Bloomfield. The only loss for NDHS was at #2 singles. Northeast Dubois now 15-0 for the 2014 season.
