Olivia A. Hagedorn, 94, Ferdinand

Olivia HagedornOlivia A. Hagedorn, 94, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (September 21) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born September 14, 1920, in Perry County to Edward and Emma (Hubert) Naviaux. She married Clarence A. Hagedorn April 18, 1939, in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Perry County. He died March 7, 1990.

Olivia was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and its St. Ann’s Sodality, the Ferdinand Daughters of Isabella, and Ferdinand American Legion Post 124 Auxillary. She was a cook at the Convent of Immaculate Conception in Ferdinand and at the Ferdinand American Legion Home. She was an avid quilter, gardener, cook, and baker.

She is survived by four sons, John Hagedorn and wife Marilyn, Ferdinand, Michael Hagedorn and wife Karen, Bristow, Bernard Hagedorn and wife Deborah, and Fred Hagedorn and wife Belle Ann, Ferdinand; four daughters, Laverne Grundhoefer and husband Robert, Santa Claus, Mary Ann Hoge and husband Bill, Zionsville, Rosalie Denu and husband John, Jasper, and Clara Pfister and husband Michael, Evansville; one sister, Alma Cook, Plainfield; 21 grandchildren; and 34 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one brother, Leonard Naviaux, and one sister, Irene Mosby.

Services at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society or to the Lange Fuhs Cancer Center in care of Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center.
