JASPER – The Catholic Diocese of Evansville says it will unveil a new Dubois County Catholic system, along with new name mascot, colors and logo.

The announcement will take place at 10:00am this Thursday in the gymnasium of the St. Joseph Catholic Church Parish Hall, 1029 Kundek Street, Jasper.

School students, families, and community members will celebrate Mass before the announcement at 8:45am.

In a news release from the Evansville Diocese, for the past 10 months, a transition team has been working to unite St. Mary Catholic School in Ireland with Holy Family and Precious Blood Catholic Schools in Jasper. The new school system will open in the fall of 2015, and will offer Catholic education to families across all of Dubois County

Expected for the announcement will be Father Gary Kaiser, pastor of Precious Blood and St. Mary Parishes, and Bishop Charles C. Thompson’s Official Delegate to the new school system; Dr. Daryl Hagan, Diocese of Evansville Superintendent of Schools.
