Robert L. “Bob” Murry, 81, Ireland

Robert MurrayRobert L. “Bob” Murry, 81, of Ireland, died Monday (September 22) at his home. He was born in Ireland May 3, 1933, to Russell and Jewell (McCain) Murry. He married Lillian Goeppner June 24, 1954, in St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland.

Bob was a retired truck driver and farmer. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ireland and the Ireland Knights of Columbus. He enjoyed spending time with family, restoring antiques, and vacationing.

He is survived by his wife, Lillian Murry; two daughters, Connie Vollmer and husband Stan, and Deb Leinenbach and husband Brad, all of Ireland; three sons, Steve Murry and wife Marcia, and Jeff Murry, all of Ireland, and Mike Murry and wife Annette, Jasper; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Hazel Gregory, Helen Murray, and Jeannie Wagner.

Services at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Mary’s Church in Ireland with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. A rosary will be prayed at 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary’s Church in Ireland, the Lemmons’ Cemetery Fund, or to the American Heart Association.
