Joseph T. Wininger, 45, Paris, Illinois

Joseph WiningerJoseph T. Wininger, 45, of Paris, Illinois, died Friday (September 19) at his home. He was born in Jasper June 7, 1969, to Joseph and Diane (Heath) Wininger.

Joe was a former resident of Dubois and a 1987 graduate of Northeast Dubois High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm. While in service he received the Army Service Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Overseas Service Ribbon, Southwest Asia Service, and the Bronze Service Star-2. He worked for many years for Meyer Distributing in Jasper. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and camping.

He is survived by three daughters, Mickayla , Calista, and Alexandra Wininger, all of Paris, Illinoid; seven sisters, Dawn J. Zehr and husband Jerry (Tubby), French Lick, Jacquelyn Hasty and husband Glen and Kara Engelhardt and husband Jack, all of Rockport, Cheryl Hartings and husband Andrew and Jana Gunselman and husband Rick, all of Jasper, Madonna Rasche and husband Timothy, Dubois, and Jill Hoffman and husband Marty, Huntingburg; five brothers, Terry Joe Carie and wife Diane, Dubois,
Mike Carie, Portersville, James K. Carie and wife Donna, Velpen, Thomas Carie and wife Debbie, Jasper, and Jeff Carie and wife Molly, Indianapolis; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Diana Helen Wininger, and one brother, Timothy Carie.

Services at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel with burial to follow at a later date. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
