A Huntingburg man was arrested Tuesday afternoon after city police were to called to a local resident on a report of a “male who was out of control in the home!”

HPD says 48-year old Donald Cawthorne and 70-year old Robert DeBoard, who both live in the home in the 100 block of South Chestnut Street, were traveling together in a car earlier when for an unknown reason Cawthorne allegedly began to hit DeBoard. HPD also learned that Cawthorne became agitated again and began breaking things prior to police arriving at the house.

HPD says the two men were calmed down then police arrived at about 3:45pm. After completing its on site investigation, Cawthorne was taken into custody, charged with Class A misdemeanor Battery.
