Jeeps Roll In Boys Tennis; Jasper Falls To Heritage Hills In Girls Soccer


Northeast Dubois 5 Forest Park 0

The Northeast Dubois boys tennis team continues to roll. Tuesday night at Ferdinand, the Jeeps improved to 11-0 for the season with a 5-0 win over Forest Park.

#1 singles – Patrick Betz (ND) defeated Matt Miller (FP) 6-3, 6-1,

#2 singles  – Jaxon Denu (ND) defeated Blake Emmert (FP) 6-2, 6-1,

#3 singles – Case Eisenhut (ND) defeated Aaron Meyer (FP) 6-2, 6-0,

#1 doubles – Cayden Knies/Tristan Linne (ND) defeated Matthew Nonte/David Lusk (FP) 6-3, 6-1,

#2 doubles – Kaden Quinn/Parker Zehr (ND) defeated Collin Hochgesang/Travis Nord (FP) 7-5, 6-4.


Washington Catholic 4 Forest Park 1

Forest Park loses at home to Washington Catholic, 4-1. The Cardinals, ranked 17th in Class 1A score three goals in the second half to put the away.

The Rangers only goal was by senior Ben Englert in the second half.

Jasper 9 Mt. Carmel 1

Jasper cruises at home over Mt. Carmel, 9-1. Heath Gudorf and Garrett Jespersen each with two goals for Jasper which led 8-0 at halftime. Also scoring goals for Jasper were and Caleb Hurst, Christopher Menjivar, Elliott Prange, Angel Hernandez and Fernando Garcia.



Heritage Hills 2 Jasper 0

At Lincoln City, Jasper shut out as Class 1A 5th-ranked Heritage Hills wins 2-0. Greer Neff and Karaline Staggs score goals for the Lady Patriots who are 9-0 for the season.


Springs Valley 3 Northeast Dubois 1

At Dubois, Northeast Dubois and Springs Valley took part in the annual Lady Jeeps’ “Dig Pink” Game for breast cancer awareness. The Lady Blackhawks win the match in four games, 21-25, 19-25, 25-19, 19-25.

Springs Valley is the high school Alma Mater of Lady Jeeps head coach Jolynne Cruz. The two teams collectively raised more than $850 Tuesday night in the fight against breast cancer. Cruz says the money will be give to local community members who are currently undergoing cancer treatments.

Forest Park 3 Tell City 1

At Tell City, the Lady Rangers spotted Tell City a win in game one but then cruise to a four-game match win the Lady Marksmen, 20-25, 25-13, 25-20, 25-14.

Lydia Lange with 12 kills in the match to lead Forest Park. Lange also had 13 service aces; Anna Hagedorn had a dozen. Madi Giesler had 23 digs; Lange had 19. Sophia Bolte and Gabby Hoffman had 15 and 14 assists respectively.


Jasper 191 Boonville 229 Evansville Central 235

At the Boonville Country Club, Jasper wins a triangular match with the host Lady Pioneers and Evansville Central.

Mady Horney shoots a 44 for nine-holes to take medalist honors. Other scores for Jasper, Natalie Hopf 48, Gillian Blessinger 48, and Taylor Stilwell 51.


At Tell City, the Forest Park boys ran 5th overall in the 2014 Lincoln Trails Invitational.
