PIKE AND DUBOIS COUNTIES, Ind. – Norfolk Southern has rescheduled railroad crossing closures to begin Wednesday, Sept. 17 at State Road 257 in Velpen and Monday, Sept. 22 at S.R. 64 in Huntingburg.

Norfolk Southern crews anticipate closing S.R. 257 in Velpen for three work days of railroad crossing repairs ending on Friday, Sept. 19. The detour for S.R. 257 traffic will follow S.R. 64, S.R. 61 and S.R. 56.

NS crews will then move to S.R. 64 just east of U.S. 231 in Huntingburg for five work days of railroad crossing repairs ending on Friday, Sept. 26. The detour for S.R. 64 traffic will follow U.S. 231 and S.R. 162.

In both locations, local traffic will have access up to the railroad crossing, where all lanes will be closed and no through traffic will be allowed.
