Spinner To Run For Second Term

SpinnerHuntingburg mayor Denny Spinner says he wants to finish the projects started under his first term in office, so he wants another.

Monday morning at a Cool Beans Restaurant news conference, Spinner announced, “I am officially announcing that I am seeking re-election as the Mayor of the City of Huntingburg.”

Spinner (pictured) is a life-long resident of the “City Like No Other!”

His first term in office saw several major economic develpment projects get underway including the start of the planning process for the building of what he describes as “the long overdue (railroad) overpass project.”

Spinner also spearheaded Huntingburg’s successful campaign to be a 2014 Indiana Stellar Community.

The designation will mean some $40 million dollars in economic development for the city over the next 5-7 years boosted by more than $10 million in grants and tax incentives from the State of Indiana.

The 58-year old Spinner is up for re-election in the Fall 2015 election. As of this time, no one else has declared their candidacy.
