Thomas AllenThomas J. Allen, 82 of Jasper, died Wednesday (September 10) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born in Daviess County March 12, 1932, to Dale and Mae (Raney) Allen. He married Delores Harder September 16, 1951.

Thomas was a farmer in Daviess County and retired form Jasper Office Furniture Company (JOFCO) where he worked for many years. He was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville and the Line Masonic Lodge in Jasper.

He is survived by his wife, Delores Allen; one daughter, Janet Doscher and husband Kevin, Cannelburg; three sons, Jasper, Lonnie Allen and wife Carolyn, Washington, and Terry Allen and wife Pamela, Jasper; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; seven sisters, Joyce Martin, Emma Harder and Lucille Arvin, all of Washington, Betty Kelley, Bloomington, Della Shelton, Rockport, Camilla Peterson, Mesa, Arizona, and Mary Lottes, Loogootee; and one brother, A.F. Allen, Jasper.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one grandson, one great-granddaughter, three brothers, Robert (Bob), Junior, and Birtle Allen, three sisters, Beatrice Schnarr, Leola Hornaday, and Wanda Mae Schnarr, and one brother and one sister who died in infancy.

Services at 10 a.m. Monday in Christ Lutheran Church in Haysville with burial following in Oak Grove Cemetery in Daviess County. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, at the Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before service at church. Rev. Timothy Kraemer will officiate. Line Lodge F&AM will hold a memorial service at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church or to the American Heart Association.
