Volunteers Help Clean Up Patoka Lake Shoreline

DSCN2630More than 70 volunteers spent this past saturday collecting trash and debris around Patoka Lake. Dana Reckelhoff, Interpretive Naturalist for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources says 72 volunteers collected enough trash along the lake’s shore to more than fill a large dump truck used to haul the debris away.

Reckelhoff says boats were used to get the volunteers to all the targeted shore areas of the lake for the cleanup. She also says all volunteers were rewarded for their efforts with a free fish fry dinner at Hoosier Hills Marina after the dinner.
