FLASH FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN LOUISVILLE HAS ISSUED A FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR PORTIONS OF SOUTHERN INDIANA AND NORTH CENTRAL KENTUCKY UNTIL 8 AM EDT /7 AM CDT/ THURSDAY.

STORMS ALONG AND NORTH OF A COLD FRONT WILL SLOWLY MOVE ACROSS
THE REGION OVERNIGHT. TORRENTIAL DOWNPOURS AND TRAINING OF
STORMS WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS SYSTEM. WIDESPREAD RAINFALL OF
1 TO 3 INCHES WITH LOCALLY HIGHER AMOUNTS WILL BE POSSIBLE OVERNIGHT.

THE HIGH RAINFALL AMOUNTS MAY LEAD TO QUICK RISES ON AREA
STREAMS AND FLASH FLOODING…PARTICULARLY IN URBAN AND LOW LYING
AREAS.

A FLASH FLOOD WATCH MEANS THAT CONDITIONS MAY DEVELOP THAT LEAD TO FLASH FLOODING. FLASH FLOODING IS A VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.
