Jasper wins IN/KY Challenge beating three Kentucky Teams

The Wildcats win all three games in this weekend’s Indiana/Kentucky Challenge hosted by Evansville Memorial.

Saturday night, the Wildcats beat Western Hills of Frankfort, Kentucky 4-1. Jasper scores three goals in the first half and never look back. Eirik Steine scores two goals for Jasper in the win;
Cristopher Menjivar and Heath Gudorf also scored in the win.

Earlier Saturday, Elliot Prange’s first half goal was all the Wildcats needed as they hold on to beat Henderson County (Henderson, KY) 1-0. Peyton Gentry in goal for Jasper gets the shutout.


Forest Park Loses PAC Matchup With North Posey

The Lady Rangers lose a heartbreaker to North Posey Saturday afternoon, 1-0. The Lady Vikings score the only goal of the match played at Poseyville in the second half.

The Lady Rangers fall to 1-5-1 with the loss.


Jasper drops three of four matches Saturday at the Providence Early Bird Tournament in Clarksville

The 3A #9 Lady Wildcats lost to 4A #5 Indianapolis Cathedral, 10-25, 15-25.

Elisabeth Ahlbrand had three kills in the match; Teyah Leinenbach had 9 assists and Rachel Sternberg had 13 digs to lead Jasper.

Jasper also dropped its second match of the day to another ranked 4A team, losing in three games to 4A #7 Columbus East, 14-25, 25-20, 7-15.

Ahlbrand had nine kills for Jasper while Reagan Hochmeister and Michala Flamion added seven each. Sternberg had 12 digs in the match; Leinenback with 24 aces.

The Lady Wildcats rebounded with a win in their third match of the tournament, beating Shelbyville in straight games, 25-17, 25-19.

Ahlbrand had nine kills; Flamion and Hochmeister each with seven. Leinenback had 22 assists and Sternberg led Jasper with 19 digs.

The Lady Wildcats came up short in their fourth and final match of the tournament losing to Seymour in three games, 11-25, 25-21 and 10-15.

Flamion led Jasper with nine kills. Leinenbach had 20 aces; Sternberg with 22 digs.

Forst Park Spikes Visiting Paoli

The Lady Rangers rolls to a three-game win over Paoli Saturday at Buechler Arena in Ferdinand, 25-12, 25-10, 25-20.

Lydia Lange had nine kills; Payton Begle had eight to lead Forest Park. Madi Giesler had 13 digs and Sophia Bolte had 11 assists in the win.


Jasper 10th at Bloomington Tournament

The Jasper Lady Wildcats finish 10th overall in Saturday’s 14-Team Bloomington South Invitational

Jasper had a team score of 349. Individually, Annika Harmon lead Jasper with an 18-hole score of 79. Catherine Bell shot an 85. Maddie Wagner and Mady Horney each carded a 92. Sarah Ackerman shot a 96.

Evansville North won the event with a team score of 301 which was 21 shots better than second place Columbus North.
