POLICE BLOTTERTHREE ARRESTED FOR DRUG POSSESSION

Three people, including a juvenile, were arrested by Jasper police early Wednesday on drug-related charges.

Taken into custody were 18-year old Cody Casper of Jasper, 18-year old Carlos Hernandez of Jasper and a juvenile female.

The three were in a car pulled over by JPD officers at 1:45am Wednesday on Truman Road at West 5th Street for drving left of center.

JPD says during the traffic stop, a K9 was summoned to the scene and police say consent was given to search the vehicle. Police say they found marijuana and paraphernalia during the search.

Casper, the driver of the vehicle is charged with possession of marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Both Casper and Hernandez are also charged with possession of paraphernalia. Hernandez also faces a charge of visiting a common nuisance. The juvenile female also faces charges of possession of paraphernalia and visting a common nuisance.

HUNTINGBURG MAN CHARGE FOR CRIMINAL MISCHIEF AT LOCAL GROUP HOME

18-year old Avary Allgood has been charged with Criminal Mischief (A misdemeanor) as Huntingburg police say he damaged the inside of the Transitional Services Group Home at 114 South Chestnut Street.

HPD says when officers arrived at about 5:50pm Wednesday they determined that Allgood, a resident of the home, used a metal pipe to knock out a wall in the living room of the home. HPD says due to the extent of the damage done, he was charged with Criminal Mischief.

JASPER WOMAN CHARGED WITH THEFT

A 31-year old Jasper woman has been charged for allegedly shoplifting items from the Jasper Wal-Mart store on north Newton Street Wednesday evening.

Jasper police say they were called to the store at about 8:15pm on a report of a possible shoplifter. Shortly after arriving, JPD determined that Tessa Zehr attempted to leave the store with miscellaneous items totaling nearly $48.

She is charged with Theft/Shoplifting.

COMMUNITY CORRECTIONS CENTER DETAINEE FOUND DECEASED

A detainee with the Dubois County Community Corrections Center was found deceased shortly before 4am Wednesday. The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and the county coroner determined that 29-year old Christopher Klee died of natural causes after an autopsy was done Wednesday morning.

DCSD says no foul play is suspected, however, toxicology samples were. DCSD says it will be several weeks before results will be released.

ACCIDENT INJURES ONE IN JASPER

A 46-year old Evansville man complained of pain to her head following a two-vehicle accident at 9th and Mill in Jasper Wednesday morning.

JPD says Mark Wilson was injured when the car he was driving north on Mill was struck by a car driven by 19-year old Jessica Earles that was eastbound on 9th.

Earles told police she did not see the Wilson vehicle when she pulled into the intersection and the two cars collided. She was cited for Failure to Yield the Right of Way. Earles was not hurt. Wilson was treated at the scene.

NO INJURIES IN JASPER ACCIDENT

No one was hurt in a two-vehicle accident on Jasper’s far northside early Wednesday morning. The drivers involved were 45-year old Karen Parker of Birdseye and 75-year old Leona Schue of rural Ferdinand.

The accident happened at the intersection of 36th and Newton streets shortly after 9am. Parker was cited by JPD for Failure to Yield the Right of Way.
