Lucille HeilersLucille Heilers, 91, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (August 31) at Scenic Hills Care Center. She was born March 25, 1923, in Ferdinand to Andrew and Caroline (Heeke) Boeglin. She married Linus Heilers October 11, 1947, in St. Ferdinand Catholic Church. He died June 30, 1971.

Lucille was a switchboard operator at the Monastery of Immaculate Conception. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish and the St. Anns Sodality, and the Monastery of Immaculate Conception prayer line. She enjoyed baking and praying the rosary.

She is survived by three sons, Tom Heilers and wife Karen, Louisville, John Heilers, Columbia, Kentucky, and Fred Heilers and wife Dianne, Ferdinand; two daughters, Karen Sue Ferguson and husband Bruce, Greenwood, and Mary Heilers, Mesquite, Texas; one sister, Rose Mae Kline and husband James, Ferdinand; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Alphonse, Ralph and Ted Boeglin, and five sisters, Frieda Olinger, Elnora Hedinger, Leona Lueken, Mary Etta Merkley, and Hattie Boeglin.

Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Thursday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Friday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of St. Benedict. Condolences may be shared at
