Missing Hunter Returns Home Safely

HAYSVILLE — A Haysville man who went hunting yesterday morning, but failed to return home by last night, and who was the subject of a missing person search overnight, returned home early this morning unharmed.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department was notified at about 9pm Thursday that 51-year old SteveNoble was last seen by family members going into the woods near his home off U.  S. 231 at about 10:30 Thursday morning. He was seen walking into the woods with a shotgun possibly to go squirrel hunting.

DCSD deputy Jesus Monerrez tells NewsNow Dubois County that a search team of about 20 members, including DCSD deputies, Haysville firefighters, and an Indiana conservation officer went looking for Noble at about 10 Thursday night.  They called off their search at about 1am Friday.

A second search was scheduled for 8 this morning, but it was not needed as DCSD got word from a family member that Noble returned home safely at about 6:30 this morning.
