Anastasia Wollenmann, 84, Ferdinand

AAnastasia Wollenmann, 84, of Ferdinand, died Sunday (August 17) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born June 12, 1930, in Troy, to Lawrence and Nellie (Gelarden) Braunecker. She married John Wollenmann June 25, 1954, in St. Pius Catholic Church in Troy. He died April 29, 1997.

Anastasia retired from Ferdinand Elementary School where she served as a cook for 24 years. She loved going to yard sales and playing bingo at local picnics. She had a special love for anything to do with Christmas. She was a member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church and its St. Anne’s Sodality.

She is survived by one son, John Wollenmann Jr. and wife Patty, Jasper; one daughter, Dianne Gogel and her partner Jerry Klee, Perry County; one brother, Ambrose Braunecker, Danville, Kentucky; two sisters, Rosie Mills and Patty Welp both of Evansville; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by two sisters, Jeannie Becher and Mary Braunecker.

Friends may call from 1-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 7-9:30 a.m. Thursday at Becher Funeral Home in Ferdinand. Services at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Ferdinand Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at
