Jasper Man Arrested For Sexual Battery On A Teenaged Girl (AUDIO)

CORTEZJASPER — A Jasper man has been arrested on charges of alleged sexual battery on a teenaged girl.

Last Friday, 35-year old Dayvi Aleman-Cortez of Jasper (pictured) was taken into custody after a warrant was issued for his arrest out of Dubois Circuit Court.

Additional details of the allegations not available from Jasper police at this time, but Assistant Chief Nathan Schmitt tells NewsNow Dubois County, his department moved quickly once the case was reported to JPD…

The investigation into allegations Aleman-Cortez inappropriately touched a teenage girl began back on August 3rd.  That’s when the allegations were reported to Jasper Police by a woman who went to JPD headquarters in person.

The charges against Aleman-Cortez are a Class D felony as the first alleged incident happened back in May.  Indiana’s new “Level” criminal codes went into effect July 1st.

If found guilty of the alleged crime, Aleman-Cortez could get between six months and three years in jail/prison, and a fine of up to $10,000.
