Three-Vehicle Accident Results In Four People Injured

accidentWest Dubois County – An early Saturday afternoon three-vehicle accident west of Huntingburg resulted in minor injuries of three people.
The accident happened at about 12:15pm five miles west of Huntingburg along Indiana 64 near the Pike County Line.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department says an SUV driven by 41-year old Lani Parker of rural New Salisbury, IN was westbound on Indiana and stopped to turn left onto South 850 West.
DCSD says a second vehicle, a pickup truck, driven by 19-year old Mackenzie Price of rural Stendal, IN was also westbound on St Rd 64 pulling a 18 foot dual-axle implement trailer.  She told DCSD she was unable to stop in time to avoid colliding with Parker’s vehicle.
The impact of the collision Parker’s vehicle was forced into the eastbound lane where it collided with an SUV driven by 44-year old Jeremy Helsley of rural Winslow, IN.
After the impacts, Price’s vehicle went off the road to the north and came to rest in a ditch, Parker’s vehicle spun around and came to rest in the intersection facing north.  Meanwhile, Helsley’s vehicle spun around and went off the road to the north.
Parker was not hurt, but three people in her SUV were transported from the scene for treatment of various injuries.
19-year old Zoren Parker of New Salisbury, IN was taken by helicopter to Deaconess in Evansville for treatment of a possible back injury.
14-Year old Tisha Peraca, unknown address, was taken by personal vehicle for treatment of a minor facial injury.
Another passenger whose information is unknown at this time was taken by ambulance to Deaconess for treatment of unknown injuries.
Meanwhile, Helsley complained of pain to his chest, head and shoulder and was taken by Dubois County EMS to Memorial Hospital for treatment.   Two passengers in his vehicle were not injured.
DCSD, Price was cited for following to closely.  The investigation is on-going.
