Robert Leo “Bob” Miller, 79, Huntingburg

Bob MillerRobert Leo “Bob” Miller, 79, of Huntingburg, died Friday (August 8) at The Waters of Huntingburg nursing center in Huntingburg. He was born November 4, 1934, in Huntingburg to Leo and Alvina (Hochmeister) Miller. He married Janice Lee Bockelman October 15, 1960, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Bob was a retired shipping coordinator for DMI Furniture Company. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. He enjoyed square dancing and was a member of various square dancing clubs for over 20 years. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed rooting for the Southridge Raiders, Indiana University, and the Cleveland Indians. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Janice Lee Miller; three sons, Dr. Roger Miller, Winston Salem, North Carolina, and Kelly and Kerry Miller, both of Evansville; one sister, Doris Reutepohler, Huntingburg; one grandchild; and one step-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Melba Hartke, two half-sisters, Norena Werremeyer and Leona Weaver, and two half-brothers, Raymond (Junior) and Russell Hesson.

Services at 10 a.m. (EDT) Tuesday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The V.F.W. Post No. 2366 Memorial Detail will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Monday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. A parish rosary prayer service will be prayed at 3:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared online at
