Southeast Schools Score Fourth Highest I-STEP Test Scores In State

ISTEP_test_issuesThe latest Indiana Statewide Testing for Educational Progress test scores show the Southeast Dubois School Corporation (Forest Park) with the fourth-highest overall passing rate in the state for both the Language Arts and Math sections of the test for the Spring of 2014.

SEDSC students in grades three through eight passed both the English and Math portions of the I-STEP test with a passing score of 91%.

Ferdinand Elementary had a perfect I-STEP Math passing rate of 100% while 98% of students passed the Language Arts section of the test for a 98% overall pass rate for both sections. Pine Ridge Elementary (Birdseye) had an overall pass rate of 96%, Cedar Crest Intermediate (Bretzville) 93%, and Forest Park Junior High School had 84%.

Southeast’s overall passing rate of 91% is fourth behind Carmel, Zionsville and West Lafayette.

Meanwhile, Greater Jasper and Southwest Dubois County schools had overall passing rates of 82%, and Northeast Dubois schools 79%. ┬áJasper’s two Catholic elementary schools also had outstanding overall passing rates.
