Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Sollman, 79, Huntingburg

Betty S.Elizabeth “Betty” Louise Sollman, 79, of Huntingburg, died Friday (July 18) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born October 15, 1934, in Huntingburg to John and Theckla (Geesken) Junge. She married Lee Sollman May 1, 1954, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntingburg. He died February 21, 1986.
Betty was a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Huntingburg, a member of St. Mary’s Church, the St. Mary’s Ladies Sodality, VFW Post No. 2366 Auxiliary, Happy Homemakers Club, and the Tuesday Rosary Prayer Group. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals, Indiana University basketball, and Southridge Raider fan.
She is survived by one daughter, Sheila Bradford and husband Roger, Houston, Texas; four sons, Steve Sollman and wife, Nancy, Shepherdsville, Kentucky, Stu Sollman and wife Felicia, Louisville, Kentucky; and Stan Sollman and wife Toni and Scott Sollman and wife Sherry, all of Huntingburg; two sisters, Mary Smith, Henderson, Kentucky, and Ginny Schroeder, Huntingburg; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents.
Services at 10 a.m. (EDT) on Monday at St. Mary’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg.
