Roy Zehr, 59, Dubois

Roy ZehrRoy Zehr, 59 of Dubois, died Thursday (July 17) at Memorial Hospital and Healthcare Center in Jasper. He was born June 20, 1955, in Jasper to Leonard and Betty (Meyer) Zehr.

Roy worked for Leitz Tooling Systems in Jasper for many years. He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Dubois, where he served on the church council. He was member of the National Rifle Association. He served on the Dubois Fire Department and was a past member of the Dubois Community Club. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking, and spending time on the White River.

He is survived by two step-daughters, Angie Moffitt and husband David, Crystal, and Christina Hudson, Florida; three sisters, Sandra Kluesner, Jasper, Kimberly Goodman and husband Ted, Celestine, and Peggy Freiberger and husband David, Greenville; two nieces. Jennifer Titzer, Evansville, and Keri Johnson, Jeffersonville; two nephews; Jeffrey Kluesner, Dubois, and Adam Oxley, New Albany; and great-nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jeremy Zehr.

Services at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Peter’s Church with burial following in the church cemetery. The Rev. John Sterrett will officiate. Friends may call from 9 am to 1 p.m. Monday at the church.
