Louise J. Brewster, 86, Jasper

Louise BrewsterLouise J. Brewster, 86 of Jasper, died Wednesday (July 16) in the Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper. She was born in Jasper May 16, 1928, to Joseph and Rose (Gehlhausen) Buechlein.

Louise retired from the Fiesta/Mill House Restaurant after 31 years. She is a member of Holy Family Catholic Church, the Blessed Virgin Sodality, and the Daughters of Isabella. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and traveling.

She is survived by five daughters, Jane Schroeder and husband Stan, and Angie Cox, all of Jasper, Barbara Wright and husband Alan, and Kathy Sitzman and husband James, all of Huntingburg, and Lisa Harner and husband David, French Lick; one son, Wayne Buechlein and wife Dianne, Paris, Illinois; nine grandchildren, Alicia Taylor, Aaron Buechlein, Amanda Smith, Adam Wright, Brad and Derek Sitzman, Thomas Harner, and Tyler and Matthew Cox; and ten great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters, Agnes A. Schuler, Clara Kreilein, Veronica Schmidt, and Carolyn Jackey; and five brothers, Leander, Urban, George, Carl, and August Buechlein.

Services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Church with burial following in Fairview Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Friday at Becher-Kluesner North Chapel in Jasper and one hour before service Saturday morning at the church. A combined rosary will be prayed at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Blessed Virgin Sodality, the Daughters of Isabella, and the St. Ann Society.
