Two Arrests Made West Of Birdseye; One For Battery Of A Child

Two arrests were made early Monday after DCSD deputies were called to investigate a domestic incident at a home west of Birdseye.

29-year old John Clark was arrested on a Class 5 felony count of Battery on a mijnor under the age of 14. He was arrested at the home in the 10200 block of East State Road 64. A Class 5 felony under the state’s new criminal code was formerly a Class C felony. If found guilty Clark could get up to eight years in prison.

DCSD says the victim was a young female and additional charges are possible.

Meanwhile, DCSD also took 35-year old Sabina Ballou who also lived in the house. During their investigation into the domestic inident, deputies discovered there was an active body-attachment warrant for a small claims case in Dubois County.

DCSD says she owns $465.20.
