INDOT Announces Plans for State Road 257 Repairs

Patching and milling will address concerns

WASHINGTON, Ind. – TheIndiana Department of Transportation will be taking action to repair portions of State Road 257 south of Washington. In September of 2011 a seal coat project was performed on S.R. 257 between Washington and Otwell.  Potholes began forming this winter and harsh conditions have taken its toll on the roadway.

INDOT crews patched this stretch of road in March of this year.  Starting in July, INDOT crews will be pulling up the reflectors in the center of the roadway and patching sections of the highway.  In late August or early September crews will perform a fine milling and seal coat operation.  This process will repair the sporadic potholing that was developing and the travelling public will have a better travelling surface.

INDOT reminds motorists to follow the posted work zone speed limit, use caution and consider worker safety when traveling through a work zone. For the latest news and information about INDOT, please visit
