Edward SchillingEdward Charles Schilling, 66, of Ferdinand, died Thursday (July 10) at the Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. He was born September 20, 1947, in Ferdinand to Albert E. and Elenora E. (Hildenbrand) Schilling.

Edwin was a member of Ferdinand American Legion Post No. 124 and the Ferdinand VFW. He was a veteran of the Viet Nam War, serving in the engineer corps. He was a member of St. Ferdinand Parish.

He is survived by three brothers, James “Tex” Schilling and Tom Schilling and wife Sue, all of St. Henry, and Mark Schilling and wife Mary, Fulda; four sisters, Joan Beckman and husband Ray, St. Meinrad, Janet Titzer and husband Craig, Elberfeld, and Mary Ann and Karen Schilling, both of Ferdinand; nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.

Services at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church followed by burial in the church cemetery with military graveside rites by Ferdinand American Legion Post 124.
