Charles Robert “Chuck” Cochren, 48, Bloomington

Chuck CochranCharles Robert “Chuck” Cochren Jr., 48, of Bloomington, died Saturday (July 5) in Bloomington. He was born February 4, 1966, in Princeton, to Charles Robert Cochren Sr. and Daphne J. (Hanebutt) Cochren.

Chuck was a 1984 graduate of Wood Memorial High School in Oakland City where he was a standout basketball player. He attended and played basketball at Rend Lake Junior College, Arkansas State University, and Oakland City College, graduating in 1989. He was a member of the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church in Bloomington. Heo enjoyed playing golf, watching Indiana University sports, attending his children’s sporting events, and loving his bulldogs.

He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Natalie A. Cochren; one daughter, Kaiti, Evansville; three sons, Cam, Jack, and Bo, all of Bloomington; his parents, Charles and Daphne Cochren; two sisters, Kim Thomas, Ellettsville, Kristen Sigman and husband Kevein, Chaffee, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, C. Harvey and Agnes Cochren, and Irvin and Lenore Hanebutt, and his uncle, Sidney Cochren.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the Sherwood Oaks Christian Church Fellowship Hall, 2700 E. Rogers Road. Bloomington. A memorial service follows at 11 a.m. at the church with Tom Ellsworth officiating. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to his children in care of The Funeral Chapel of Powell and Deckard, 3000 E. Third St. Bloomington, IN 47401.
