A Jasper man is now facing several charges including a Class D felony count of Domestic Battery following an incident at his home Tuesday afternoon.
Jasper police say at about 3:30pm Tuesday, they were notified of a possible domestic battery incident at the home of 21-year old Dallas Bedell and his girlfriend in the 400 block of East 14th Street. Police say their investigation determined that Bedell had battered his girlfriend, and did so with a small child present, thus his being charged with a Class D felony.
Police also determined that the girlfriend attempted to call 911 for help, but Bedell took the phone from her and broke it so she couldn’t call.
Bedell was later taken into custody at his place of employment. In addition to the felony battery charge, he’s also been charged with criminal mischief and interferring wtih the reporting of a crime.
