Linus O. Buechler, 88, Jasper

Linus BuechlerLinus O. Buechler, 88, of Jasper, died Friday (April 25) at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. He was born in St. Anthony January 7, 1926, to George and Stella (Mundy) Buechler. He married Ruth Fuhs May 16, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Jasper.

Linus worked at Jasper Chair Company for over 30 years and then retired from Styline, where he had been a supervisor for many years. He was a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, the Precious Blood Men’s Society, and VFW. Post No. 673. He enjoyed gardening and tending his pecan trees.

He is survived by his wife and caretaker, Ruth Buechler; two daughters, Julie Eckert, and husband Scott, Jasper, and Lesa Tucker and husband Joe, Vincennes; one son, Ronald Buechler and wife Diane, Ferdinand; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Rosie Fuhs, Jasper, and Mary Knust and husband Donald, Ferdinand; and one brother, Charles Buechler and  wife Betty, Bristow.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one infant daughter, one sister,  Sadie Hochgesang, and two brothers, Jacob and Robert Buechler

Services at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Precious Blood Church with entombment to follow in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum . VFW Post No. 673 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 9-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Precious Blood Catholic School, the American Heart Association, or to a favorite charity.
