Pauline E. “Sis” Sermersheim, Jasper

Sis SermersheimPauline E. “Sis” Sermersheim, 85, of Jasper, died Wednesday (April 23) in Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper. She was born May 4, 1928, to Theodore and Leona (Zehr) Goodman. She married Dennis A. Sermersheim May 25, 1950.

Sis retired from General Electric, where she worked for 35 years. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper. She loved gardening, especially rose gardening, and also enjoyed sewing, reading, and mushroom hunting.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis; one son, Kevin W. Sermersheim and wife Nancy, Jasper; two granddaughters, Jamie Fleming and husband Ryan, Jasper, and Amber Sermersheim and her fiancé, Brad Kramer, Huntingburg; one great-grandson,
Kasen Fleming; two sisters, Inez Knies and husband Dallas, and Carol Gehlhausen and husband Neil, all of Celestine; three brothers, Eugene Goodman and Jack Goodman and wife Frances, all of Celestine, and Ernie Goodman, Wickliffe; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Nancy Eichmiller.

Services at 11 a.m. Friday at Trinity United Church of Christ in Jasper, followed by entombment in the Fairview Cemetery Mausoleum. Pastor Jane Hillman will officiate.
