A Huntingburg man wanted for walking away while on work release was arrested Friday afternoon after police say he stole $2 worth of pop-tarts from a local store and fled.
Huntingburg police say they found 18-year old Wyatt Jenkins walking behind a building in the 1000 block of North Main Street just south of the Hometown IGA store.
Jenkins was arrested without incident. He now faces a Class D felony county of theft. This in addition to a Class D felony escape charge after he failed to report back to the Dubois County Community Corrections Center last month.
Jenkins was in DCCC after he was arrested on February 5th for another theft as well as poessession of a handgun without a license, altering a gun’s identification, and minor consumption.
