EIGHT LOCAL SCHOOLS AMONG 311 NAMED “FOUR-STAR” SCHOOLS

fourstarIndiana Superintendent of Public Instruction Glenda Ritz has announced Indiana’s 4 Star schools for 2012-2013. These schools ranked in the top 25 percent in three I-Step based categories.  311 schools made the list.

The eight local schools are Pine Ridge Elementary (Birdseye), Cedar Crest Intermediate (Bretzville), Ferdinand Elementary, Celestine Elementary, Ireland Elementary, Precious Blood School (Jasper), Northeast Dubois High School and Jasper High School.

This is the fourth year of the “Four-Star Schools” list.  Jasper and Northeast Dubois high schools, along with Ireland and Ferdinand elementary schools, and Cedar Crest Intermediate School have made all four lists.

Holy Family School (Jasper) was on the 2011-12 “Four-Star Schools” list, but did not make the newest list.  Southridge High School was named a “Four-Star School” for the 2010-11 school year.
