Jasper Police arrested 51-year old Joseph Fowler Friday afternoon.  Police say a motorist noticed a pickup truck driving erratically as it was entering the city’s northside on U. S. 231 at about 12:40pm.

A JPD officer stopped Fowler’s vehicle at 10th and Newton Streets.  Police say Fowler’s blood alcohol content tested .11%.

He’s been charged with a Class D felony count of Driving While Intoxicated.

About two hours later, 25-year old Eric Killion-Golden of Loogootee was arrested by JPD for allegedly shoplifting at the Jasper WalMart store on the city’s northside.

Security officials at WalMart tell JPD they observed Killion-Golden taking video games and a DVD from the store’s electronic area into another area of the story where they say he removed the games and the DVD from their cases.

The “Asset Protection Staff” say Killion-Golden then left the story without paying for the items.  JPD says the stolen items were located in Killion-Golden’s vehicle shortly after they arrived on scene.

Killion-Golden is charged with a Class D felony count of theft.
