Larry W. Fawks, 60, of Jasper, died Tuesday (April 8) at his home. He was born May 12, 1953, in Huntingburg, to Edward and Carol (Whipking) Fawks. He married Mary Beth Linne in Celestine December 6, 1986. She preceded him in death on December 20, 2007.
Larry worked for Masterbrand Cabinets in Ferdinand for 26 years. He served in the Indiana Army National Guard and was a member of the Wounded Warrior Project. He was a member of St. Raphael Catholic Church in Dubois. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, and collecting marbles.
Surviving are one daughter, Chelsey Fawks, Tell City; three sons,
Jamie Fawks and wife Priscilla, Birdseye, Jarrod Fawks, Dubois, and Nicholas Fawks and wife Tina, Dubois; seven grandchildren, Callie Fawks, Racha and Cheyenne Bolden, Brody and Zander Tabor, and Noah and Abra Fawks; four sisters, Julie Powell and husband Rick, and Deb Sitzman and husband Herb, all of Huntingburg, Lori Petry, Dubois, and Brenda Thomas and husband Danny, Dale; and two brothers, Eddie Fawks, Jr. and wife Rennie, Tell City, and Mike Fawks and wife Judy, Dubois.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ernie Fawks.
Funeral services at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Raphael Church with burial following in the church cemetery. American Legion Post No.147 will conduct military graveside rites. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. Sunday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Raphael Catholic Church or to a favorite charity.
