scoreboardIn baseball, Jasper loses a four-run lead after 4 as Bloomington South roars back with 7 runs in the fifth enroute to a 9-8 win over the Wildcats. Jasper stranded 10 including two in the bottom of the 7th. The Wildcats now 0-2 on the young season. They host Mt. Carmel at Ruxer Field this afternoon.

In softball, the Lady Wildcats lose at Heritage Hills 5-3. The Lady Patriots score all their runs in the fourth to hand Jasper its first loss in three starts in 2014.

Meanwhile at Southridge… the Lady Raiders opened the 2014 season in impressive fashion with a 21-2 win over Tell City. Southridge pounded Tell City pitching for 15 in the game called after 4. Megan Stapleton gave up only one hit in three innings in the circle. Kassidy Mundy took over in the fourth and struck out the side.

In local high school track and field, Northeast Dubois dominates a boys/girls quad meet at Dubois and at Huntingburg, Tell City outruns the Raiders, 100-32 in a dual meet.
