More Rain; Fewer Road Closures

More rain fell yesterday and overnight… 3/4″ of an inch fell locally the last 24 hours making this one of the wettest April’s so far on record!

In the first seven days of the month, in Jasper, 6.45 inches of rain has fallen according to our Accuweather.com/NewsNow Dubois County gauges.  Normal rainfall for the month of April in Dubois County is 4.65 inches.

The Patoka River at Jasper is at 12.6 feet this morning, that’s just below flood stage.  It was at its highest point this month… 14.31 feet late Sunday night.

With the falling river comes fewer road closures.  Here’s the latest list from the Dubois County Highway Department…
