Dubois County has a new county engineer. He is Brent Wendholt. If that names sounds familiar, it should. Brent’s dad, Norman, was the county engineer for many years before he passed away in 2009.
The Dubois County Commissioners offered the job to Wendholt yesterday. He accepted the post today.
Brent Wendholt replaces Jason Heile. Heile stepped down in January to take the same position in Daviess County for substantially more money than what he was making here.
The 28-year old Wendholt is currently an assistant engineer for the Warrick County Highway Department. He will start his new job in Dubois County April 28th. His starting salary is $60,000/year. Heile was making $58,600 when he left.
Brent Wendholt grew up in St. Anthony and graduated from Forest Park High School. A standout baseball player & wrestler in high school, Brent went on to play college baseball at both Vincennes University and the University of Southern Indiana. He also pitched for the Dubois County Bombers.
