Lady Jeeps Drop Soggy Season-Opener At Heritage Hills

jeepThe most valuable players coming out of  last night’s girls high school softball game season-opener at Heritage Hills High School were the grounds crews.

The crew did an incredible job getting the HHHS softball field ready so the Lady Patriots and Lady Jeeps from Northeast Dubois could open the 2014 season.   Rain gauges in the are recorded as much as five inches of rain over a 36-hour period that ended late Friday morning.

Heritage Hills raced out to a 5-0 lead after two.  The Lady Jeeps rallied with three runs in the top of the fifth.  The big hit in the inning was a two RBI single by freshman Carly Terwiske who later scored on a fielder’s choice RBI by Emily Lueken to make it 5-3, but Heritage Hills hangs on for the 6-3 win.

NDHS senior Michelle Seitz went the distance in the circle in her first varsity start filling in for Kendra Jacob who did not play due to illness.
