Carol J. King, 77, of Huntingburg, died Thursday (April 3) at Scenic Hills Care Center in Ferdinand. She was born December 16, 1936, in Huntingburg, to Birnie H. Jeffries, Sr. and Leona Louise (Stahl) Jeffries.
Carol was a retired sales and customer service representative for Kimball International. She was a 1954 graduate of Huntingburg High School, and a Sunday school teacher for 32 years in Brownsburg. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards and music.
She is survived by three daughters, Susan Burcholtz and husband Randell, Valrico, Florida, Nola Tucker, Jasper, and Julie Parks and husband Art, Huntingburg; one son, Amos Lynn King, Indiana; one brother, Birnie H. Jeffries, Jr., and wife Majorie, St. Anthony; two sisters, Bernice Horney and husband Roland, Lawrenceburg, and Juanita Durcholz, Ireland; and five grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father.
Funeral services at 7 p.m. (EDT) Monday at the Nass and Son Funeral Home in Huntingburg. Cremation will take place after the services. A committal service and interment of her cremains will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Fairmount Cemetery in Huntingburg. Reverend Darrel Land will officiate at the services.
