The City of Jasper has been awarded funding from the state for a labyrinth that will be placed near the Riverwalk.

Lt. Gov. Sue Ellspermann’s office says the City of Jasper has been awarded a Place Based Investment Fund grant.

Jasper is getting a $35,000 grant to build a labyrinth just north of the Fourth Street entrance to the Jasper Riverwalk.

The labyrinth is a grassy maze that can be used for exercise and or meditation.

The state grant will be matched with a $27,000 donation from the Jasper Desk Foundation and an $8,000 contribution from the Dubois County Community foundation to put the $70,000 labyrinth in place.

The state grant requires the labyrinth to be completed by The project must be completed by December 2015
