Anxious Moments Tuesday Morning At Southridge Middle School

SMSSome anxious moments at Southridge Middle School as students were kept in their  homerooms for an extra 40 minutes Tuesday morning as school officials investigated a rumor that a student had brought a banned item to school.

Administrators and staff spent the additional time searching lockers and talking with students believed to have been involved.  But it was soon determined the rumors were not true and students were allowed to go onto their regular classes.

Principal Al Mihajlovits says the students were kept in their homerooms as a precaution as school officials must take every threat and rumor seriously.

The police were not called to the school.
