Robert Lee Hasenour, 74, of St. Anthony, died Friday (March 14) at the Indiana University Health Simon Cancer Center. He was born on March 26, 1939, in St. Anthony, to Clement and Catherine (Haas) Hasenour. He married Patti Gogel September 23, 1961, in Precious Blood Catholic Church in Jasper.
Robert was a United States Army veteran and served during the Cuban missile crisis. He retired from Schmidt Contracting, where he worked for many years as an HVAC technician. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, American Legion Post No. 493, and helped multiple community organizations. He enjoyed woodworking and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Patti Hasenour; two sons, Scott Hasenour and wife, Rhonda, St. Anthony, and Jason Hasenour and wife Stacy, Indianapolis; six grandchildren, Brandon, Travis, Dillon, Addison, Cane, and Alexis Hasenour; four sisters, Dorothy Blessinger, Jasper, Marian Hopf and husband Tom, Jasper, Kathy Kluemper and husband, Don, Huntingburg, and Laverne Begle and husband Hilary, Ferdinand.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Mary Hasenour, two sons, Wayne and Bryan Hasenour, two sisters, Delores Wehr and Margie Rasche, and two brothers, Jerome and Allen Hasenour.
Funeral services at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in St. Anthony with burial following in the church cemetery. American Legion Post No. 493 will conduct military gravesite rites. Friends may call from 3-8 p.m. Thursday at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and one hour before services at the church.
